Dr. Norman was raised in Hephzibah, Georgia. He has always had a passion for animals spending years training and breeding Beagles as well as raising and caring for quail, pheasants, ducks, turkeys, doves, pigeons and rabbits with his father. He started his first professional job at 16 with the Savannah River Ecology Lab doing field research, Nation Park surveys and Outreach Education. At 17 Dr. Norman started working as a veterinary assistant at Hammond Hills Animal Hospital when he wasn’t working at SREL. He attended Greenbriar High School graduating with Honors in 2002 while playing Varsity soccer all 4 years. Dr. Norman attended University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources obtaining a BS in Wildlife. While at UGA he worked with numerous PHD students on research projects on the Georgia barrier islands and Costa Rica. He served as a teaching assistant for several classes such as Herpetology UGA Ecology and Communications at the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Norman was also a founding member of the UGA Herpetological Society. While at UGA he was employed by the Vet School as a Veterinary Assistant for the Zoological Medicine service and as a tour guide for the Dean of the Vet School. He obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. He began working as a Veterinarian at Hammond Hills Animal Hospital one week after graduation and purchased the practice in 2015. Dr. Norman has a passion for internal medicine and surgery, with special interest in Exotic Animal Medicine. Dr. Norman is a Master Falconer, training several hawks each year. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Dr. Jennifer Norman, who is also a UGA DVM graduate, and their two children. They have numerous pets including 3 dogs (Gunner a German Shepherd, Skye a Border Collie, and Banks a Australian Shepherd), chickens, a miniature donkey, Red-Tailed hawks, homing pigeons, snakes, geckos, horses and fish. Dr. Norman enjoys hobbies such as horseback riding, wildlife management, kayaking, falconry and anything outdoor
